Encountering the stranger

Writing prompt to discover connections

Describe a time when a stranger became a neighbor. Consider that moment of recognition when your consciousness shifts or when you feel someone or something else’s view of you changes.  Perhaps it is with something in nature that had been unseen or too strange to you, or with someone you pass without much thought, someone in the news that you dismiss, a place on the globe you overlook or cannot pronounce. Describe the circumstances around that shift – is it internal, external, mutual? What came before it? What comes next?
